Intermediate Interior Designer Job in New York City

New requirement for an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our client, a leading architectural and interior design firm, with their head office in New York City, a stone’s throw away from Madison Square Park. The ideal candidate will be motivated, technically strong and have a strong creative flair. The role is offering a salary of up to circa $75,000 + Full Benefits Package.

Established for over 60 years, this practice has links across the US and covers all aspects of architectural planning, interior design, and brand development for commercial projects of all sizes. You will be joining a vibrant and highly enthusiastic team with a strong work ethic to deliver some of the best projects across the workplace and commercial sectors.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of conceptual designs, including mood boards, look and feel of projects, spatial design and test fits
  • Creation of renderings and design packages
  • FF&E selection, specification and budget management
  • Site visits and manage installations
  • Review technical drawings and create millwork detailing and specifications
  • Attend client meetings and manage expectations
  • Liaise with and coordinate consultants and vendors

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified, or higher, in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or similar
  • 5+ years within corporate interior design
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator), and MS Office
  • Experience creating and understanding project documentation
  • FF&E experience
  • Knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements
  • Licensure or CID, IIDA, ASID, LEED, preferred but not required
