About the Role: 

The Interior Designer will be responsible for the production of specifications, drawings, renderings and other design deliverables for all interior design aspects of our projects. With assistance from a Junior Designer and in tandem with the Architectural Designer, the Interior Designer will work to produce a comprehensive design package across multiple project phases.

The Interior Designer will also liaise with clients to adjust specifications, produce budgets and schedules for the interior design aspects of the project, and work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the project is delivered on time. Occasionally, they will conduct field visits to project sites to ensure that construction and installation details meet the rigorous standards of the design. 

This ideal candidate has an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in interior design, with 3-5 years of experience working on retail, hospitality and other commercial projects. They will be highly proficient in common interior design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, Sketchup and Enscape with the ability to learn new software and tools quickly.

The ideal candidate has a team-oriented attitude, a willingness to get their hands dirty and get the job done, and an ability to work within a wide variety of project types, budgets, and schedules. They will be comfortable communicating with a diverse group of stakeholders, with a customer service-oriented attitude when speaking with clients. The candidate should maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Visual presentations, mood boards, and design narratives
  • Digital 3D Modeling
  • Rendered plans, elevations and perspectives
  • FF&E selections and specifications
  • Plumbing fixture selections and specifications
  • Custom millwork design and documentation
  • Finish and/or material boards
  • Assistance with project proposals
  • FF&E procurement and vendor management
  • Close-out documents

Role Details:

This is a full-time salaried position requiring 40+ hours per week of work. Our office is located in Manhattan, but during the COVID-19 pandemic we are flexible with work location. Once it is safe to do so, all employees will be expected to work from the office regularly.
