About the Role

An Interior Architectural Designer at GGLO works closely with design team members to develop a comprehensive design of the interior spaces and the spaces in-between. This person is a design thinker, understands building systems and codes, is experienced in interior architectural detailing, and can shape interior space within the context of the building.  This hands-on role facilitates design continuity between the architecture and the interior finishes and furnishings. An Interior Architect collaborates with Architects, Landscape Architects, and various consultants to facilitate, coordinate, and execute design on a variety of residential, workplace, hospitality, and urban mixed-use projects. GGLO projects include large to mid-size mixed-use project types and renovation and re-positioning of existing projects.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform interior architecture tasks during all phases of the design process, across a variety of project scopes and scales

· Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams, promoting design thinking from the inside-out and the outside-in

· Work with project teams to bridge concepts and design ideas to reality within building specific context 

· Coordinate interior architecture and code requirements with owner, contractor, consultants, and other team members

· Collaborate with members of GGLO’s High Performance Group to incorporate sustainable design strategies and healthy materials into projects, with an eye toward those that are Climate Positive

· Advance and explore design opportunities using a broad range of graphic and BIM computer software to express design solutions

· Review and coordinate interior project specifications 

· Coordinate and direct the work of junior team members

About You

· Awareness of the larger context and impact of design

· Understanding of the relationship between design and constructability

· Knowledge of interior architectural detailing and materials 

· Understanding of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements

· Quick learner and critical thinker with ability to thrive working on concurrent projects in various stages of development

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and within a highly collaborative team environment

· Ability to coach and mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing

· Desire to keep up with technical innovations and grow professionally 

· Bonus points for LEED AP, WELL AP or similar accreditation

· Understanding of BIM Execution Planning 


Requirements

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or equivalent

· Minimum of 10 years of professional experience

· Architecture license preferred

· Experience in mixed-use, multi-family, and/or hospitality project types

· Experience with all phases of the design process

· Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite, and MS Office

· Willingness and ability to travel for project-related responsibilities

· Authorization to work in the United States
