PLAN architecture | design | strategy is currently seeking a self-directed full time project designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to work on high end residential and select commercial projects. 

We are a design oriented office, looking for a talented and motivated Project Designer to contribute to all phases of design.  This opportunity is best suited for a designer looking to join a practice with a wide variety of project typologies.   Candidates must exhibit strong organizational skills and be accustomed to working in a team environment.

SALARY/WAGES

Salary is commensurate with experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Partner-in-Charge in the development of a project
  • Prepare sketches and CAD drawings for in-house review
  • Draft architectural drawings for SD, DD and CD Phases.
  • Research current zoning and building code requirements
  • All aspects of Construction Administration, including job site visits, submittals, RFI's and change orders

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Highly motivated, with excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals
  • Graduate of a NAAB accredited 4 or 5 year architecture or design school.  A professional degree in Architecture (B. Arch/M. Arch) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in NYC, preferably experience in high-end residential design
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD 2022, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Experience with creating all project documentation, including Design Development and Construction Sets.
  • Experience producing construction drawing sets for NYC residential projects is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of current building codes including ADA requirements
  • Must be a US green card holder or US citizen 

Other:  Our office is working in a hybrid model of both WFH and in the office. You may be asked to attend project site meetings in and around the NYC area (including Westchester and the Hamptons).
