Job Description:

Project Manager for established high-end custom home and hospitality design firm in Newport Beach, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of project management from DD & CD production, through plan check approval and CO.
  • Interface with all Agencies Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), including: Local Planning, Engineering, Building & Safety, and Public Works Departments; HOA’s; California Coastal Commission: Local Fire Authority; Public and Private Utility Service Providers; etc. 
  • Coordination with all project consultants including: interior designer, landscape architect, civil engineer, structural engineer, geotechnical engineer, MEP engineers, T-24, etc.
  • Oversight and management of subordinate production staff.
  • Formulation and management of individual project production schedules as well as overall production work flow within office.
  • Construction Document QC/QA

Requirements:

  • Accredited architectural degree and CAB preferred but not required. 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with high-end custom home projects. Hospitality and retail experience helpful but not immediately required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CRC and CBC.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Geotechnical, Civil, Structural, MEP and FLS engineering functions sufficient to manage and coordinate these consultant disciplines
  • Complete proficiency in AutoCADD, Revit, Microsoft Project and Excel.  Additional computer skills such as Sketch Up and Photo Shop skills helpful but not required.
  • Ability to take a schematic design work product and produce complete DD through CD with attention to detail and ‘pride of ownership’ in final work product. 
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects with minimal direction. 
  • Ability to direct and interact with subordinate employees in a constructive and supportive manner and be a leader in promoting a harmonious and positive work environment
  • Able to adapt to existing office graphic standards as well as suggest and implement QA/QC improvements.
  • Team player able and willing to assist staff in meeting deadlines.
  • Complete familiarity with high-end residential construction methods and detailing.
  • Experienced and well-versed in Construction Administration protocol.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Social, professional and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact comfortably and effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, as well as in-house staff.
