Newman Architects is seeking an enthusiastic, independent Marketing Coordinator / Graphic Designer to work closely with our marketing and leadership teams as an active part of our New Haven or DC office. Newman is a values-driven, full-service design firm nationally recognized for our work. We work collaboratively to serve well-respected, mission-driven clients, including colleges and universities, K-12 schools, commercial developers, cities, and civic organizations.

Position Overview:

The Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer position will support Newman’s range of marketing, business development, and public relations efforts across all market sectors, as well as provide graphic assistance to project teams as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the marketing team, project managers, and firm leadership to develop portfolios, proposals, presentations, and award submissions.

•  Design and edit Newman materials, coordinate consultant materials, conduct research, and develop graphics to support the communication of our qualifications, approach, and ideas to potential clients.

• Maintain and organize marketing resources including the image library, project sheets, resumes, boilerplate information, etc.

• Develop graphics for speaking engagements and digital outreach through social media, mailings, and our website.

• Maintain our website and social media channels and support development of content.

• Assist in maintaining marketing database (Deltek CRM) and mailing list.

• Undertake special projects related to your skills and interests in marketing and architecture.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Passion for architecture and design

• Oral, written, and graphic communication skills

• Ability to handle multiple deadlines and organize information and resources

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Graphic Design, Architecture, or Marketing preferred

• Some experience within an architecture firm preferred

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite
