The MS in Architecture, Computational Technologies Program is searching for Adjunct faculty who can fulfill teaching responsibilities in coordination with the Director of the MS Program for the Spring of 2022 semester at our Old Westbury, Long Island campus. The teaching position opportunity will be able to work experimentally using our Fabrication Laboratory, a new state-of-the-art facility, on our Old Westbury campus. Teaching skills include various forms of architecture experimentation with CAM and CNC, including M and G-code scripts development and manipulation and reverse engineering using Rhinoceros 3D Grasshopper plug in and Python (+GHPython). Additional Fab Lab CNC include various forms of 3d printing and add-ons to robotic arms for various forms of printing/fabrication. Syllabi include a set of pedagogic objectives in relation to co-requisite courses but exercises are open and will be coordinated with Program Director. Additional skills may include, but are not limited to, Raspberry Pi Physical computing, Machine Vision and Machine Learning applied to fabrication. Additional responsibilities include working and coordinating with Fab Lab technicians/Director. 

This course will also be supported by a parallel course, ARCH 776 Fabrication Optimization, which will teach students how to work form in relation to simulation and material optimization using Rhinoceros 3D Grasshopper Plugin.

Qualifications

Technical skills required include KUKA PRC (Rhinoceros 3d Grasshopper Plugin based for KRL) to work with one, two or three independent and coordinated KUKA Agilus SIXX robotic arms and Python programming language.
