Computational Architectural designer 

Innovative Architecture firm in SLC seeks passionate & futuristic thinking Computational Designer. This position is an intermediate level (meaning, you should ideally have 2-5 years minimum of actual architecture-related experience) but we are always open to finding the right talent and training if you have an entrepreneurial spirit and are willing to take risks.

  • High proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper is a must

  • Working knowledge of Revit and Dynamo

  • Text-based programming skills a plus (C#, Python, Processing, etc.)

  • Ability to create sophisticated parametric models for both simple and complex design problems

Prior knowledge and/or fluency in the above software is preferred.

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Technology Obsessed -An avid gamer or previous software developer that knows the AEC industry is more than ready for monumental shifts in technology usage

  • Opinionated- Automating various design processes for our architectural workflow will be imperative to this role- and no idea is bad in our opinion

  • AEC-Adjacent or Architecture Background - Working knowledge of the Architectural Project services processes and basic knowledge of the phases of delivery is desired

  • Rapid Parameter Formulator- Ability to iterate quickly into various parametric models including massing, panelization, complex geometry, geometric rationalization

  • Confidently utilize data (environmental, cost, programmatic, etc) to communicate what creates the logic for design decisions

  • Ability to manage assigned projects and provide constructive feedback in the process 

Your time will be spent on project teams as a designer with a focus on solving day-to-day design problems using the strategies and tools listed above.  This role will also encompass building processes and standards for the office that make us more efficient.
