Company Overview: Newman Garrison + Partners (NG+P) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Architect/Manager with experience in multifamily, mixed-use, and hospitality projects. NG+P approaches their work with offering market-driven design solutions in architecture, interior design, and land-planning services.

Position Overview: The candidate will be responsible for running projects; coordinating consultant work, managing the production team, and facilitating communication. He/she will be involved in all phases of the project delivery and will coordinate with the Studio Director to ensure the project is on schedule and meeting the set standards. Candidates must possess strong analytical, oral, and written communications skills with the ability to build quick rapport with all levels of employees, clients, consultants, and vendors. Candidates must also have a proven ability in problem identification and problem solving. The candidate will have worked with governmental agencies with a demonstrated ability to successfully deliver completed projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial and operational performance of projects to build long-term relationships with our clients. Be a Leader of the team, both within NGP and for the consultants.
  • Manage the production process in a collaborative environment including team building, staffing suggestions, project organization, team communication, and mentoring staff.
  • Lead the development and execution of the work plan, budget, and schedule, modifying as appropriate throughout the project life cycle.
  • Align work effort and resources with contract and work scope proactively addressing changes, including additional services as required.
  • Proactively manage the project schedule from beginning to end, set team milestones, communicate daily with the team to establish rapport.
  • Work with Principal and Senior Design team to resolve design issues with creative and practical solutions.
  • Active involvement during Construction Document and Construction Administration phases including on-going consultant coordination. Must have direct client communication. Field visits/travel may be required.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor/Master of Architecture from an accredited program and Architectural license, California Registration preferred. Minimum of 7 years of project experience on mid-to-large scale Mixed-Use, Multifamily and/or Hospitality projects required. Proven leadership skills with the ability to build strong client and team relationships. Must have experience leading BIM project production teams, demonstrated expertise with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam. Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Smartsheet for scheduling.
