Commercial Architect (8-10+ years experience, 6 weeks PTO)  

Our quickly growing Commercial division is looking forward to welcoming an experienced Architect to our dynamic team!

Our award-winning firm is seeking an experienced Architect to join our team and support our Commercial Division as we expand our reach in the Greater Portland area. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and coordinating all design phases of multiple custom commercial projects.

  • Managing design teams of 1-2 Project Architects and/or Architectural Designers - in collaboration with creative oversight by Directors and Principal Architect 

  • Independently moving projects forward from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.

  • Facilitating day-to-day direct client contact in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Managing administrative and technical aspects of projects including project budgets and schedules.

  • Coordinating with project consultants such as surveyors, engineers, etc. 

  • Collaborating with in-house or external Construction Project Managers to ensure the design is executed to client’s satisfaction.

  • Ensuring timely and quality execution of assigned projects.

  • Specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet and exceed the client’s needs.

  • Independently reviewing local + state codes and regulations.

  • Carrying out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

Qualified candidates will have: 

  • A 4 to 6-year Architectural degree from an accredited Architecture Program.

  • 8-10+ years of experience in the architecture field

  • Commercial design experience (required)

  • Architectural licensure (preferred)

  • An understanding of Maine code and regulations (required)

  • Knowledge + aptitude at using Archicad BIM software (preferred) 

  • An interest in our design ethos both in our residential and commercial divisions

  • An inquisitive mind that is always searching for new and exciting solutions
