Alda Ly Architecture is an award-winning full service integrated design and architecture firm, whose past clients include The Wing, Parsley Health, Rent the Runway, & HealthQuarters. Our team is small but mighty, and built around a collective desire to create thoughtful, innovative, designs for projects we care about. We specialize in workplace, retail, and wellness spaces of all scales for entrepreneurs and creative brands—often with clients who have unique visions and are doing things that have never been done before. 

We’ve got a number of exciting projects on tap, and are looking for the next key player in our integrated design team: a full-time Intermediate Interior Designer/ Project Manager. Our ideal candidate is kind, hard-working, resourceful and a top notch communicator who has experience in both interior design and architecture, and is comfortable independently managing & leading small to medium projects and executing a cohesive design vision throughout. This person should have solid experience with concept generation as well as FF&E selection, specification and documentation.. She/he/they should be someone who is looking to have ownership and responsibility from day one and is interested in becoming an integral part of a growing team.

  • Independently manage 1-2 small interior design projects, or the interiors work streams across 3 -4 projects

  • Responsible for managing and executing project deliverables including project work plan, SD/DD/CD drawing sets, 3D visualizations, project schedules, and specifications on smaller interior design projects

  • Develop design concept and strategy, user-experience journeys & mood boards through a research-based approach (with support from Director)

  • Manage research, design, selection, specification, documentation and (as required) bidding/procurement of interior design elements such as FF&E, custom furniture, finishes, millwork, lighting, drapery, etc. for projects within defined budgets (with guidance from Director of Interior Design)

  • Develop key project presentations and present work during client presentations (with support from Director)

  • Responsible for day-to-day communication and interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors and acting as client liaison (with support from Director)

  • Responsible for reviewing shop drawings and drafting RFI responses and clarification sketches for interior design elements during Construction Administration (with support from Director)

  • Maintain materials library and develop knowledge of relevant products 

  • Help drive unique, creative solutions to unique design problems 

  • Bring kindness, empathy and thoughtfulness to the work, always.

  • Design amazing things, daily


  • Minimum 3-5  years of relevant experience at an architecture or interior design office 

  • Comfort with multi-tasking and collaboration within a context of fast-paced projects and tight deadlines 

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

  • FF&E sourcing, documentation and specification experience a must

  • Work examples that demonstrate a sophisticated design sensibility and technical detail, as well as an ability to bring the project from concept to completion

  • Proficient in Revit, Autocad, Adobe Creative Suite, Project Management tools (Excel/Google Sheets/Smartsheet) and 3D modeling software (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.), as well as hand sketching!

  • On-site construction administration/FF&E installation experience a plus

  • Ideally currently living in NYC and available to start ASAP

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employer sponsorship

Our office is working remotely for the time being. You may be asked to attend periodic project site meetings in the NYC area. We have a small satellite office in the Financial District where we can perform collaborative design work and have project meetings. We anticipate shifting to a hybrid model of both WFH and in-office in NYC sometime in mid-2022.
