J. PATRYCE DESIGN is currently seeking a detail-oriented, creative, organized, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high end residential design to join our team. Please note that applicants with less than 3 years will not be considered. As an Intermediate designer you will be involved with all phases of high-end residential projects. The candidate must be highly organized with a desire and ability to manage multiple projects at one time. The position will be 4 days per week and will likely lead to 5 days per week.


  • Manage projects from schematic design through final installation 
  • Design, source and present all interior FF&E including finishes, fixtures, fabrics, furniture, hardware, lighting, rugs, accessories and art in collaboration with Lead Senior Designer and Principal 
  • Manage all client and vendor communications articulately and professionally 
  • Drive project coordination through communication with contractors, vendors, custom fabricators, and clients through multi-year projects 
  • Create and execute client proposals and associated vendor paperwork to complete and track decorative purchases 
  • Manage FF&E & sourcing to track detailed schedules on a weekly basis 
  • Define and solve complex problems, complete tasks accurately with a strong attention to detail 
  • Manage internal and external deadlines through efficient time management <li>Organize and coordinate all aspects of site installations along with Lead Sr. Designer and Principal 


  • Must possess a BA in interior Design from an accredited program/school <li>High proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel), and Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Comfort and experience executing custom furniture and detailed millwork plans and elevations 
  • Sound knowledge and ability to execute construction documents (lighting, millwork, plumbing fixtures and tile layouts) 
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Ability to work independently/efficiently as well as within a team environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and track high-end residential projects from concept through installation 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Comfort and experience with client-facing communications and problem solving 
  • Experience with sourcing, selecting, and specifying furnishings, finishes, and fixtures including a thorough understanding of the high end/NYC design industry and vintage and trade vendors. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate concepts to clients and associates using various presentation techniques (including Power point and Adobe Photoshop) 
  • Experience and/or interest in providing content (images) for social media platforms from design related activities a plus 
  • Flexible can-do attitude with a passion for design Flexible can-do attitude with a passion for design 
  • Valid US driver’s license and ability/willingness to travel as needed 
  • Experience with Design Manager a plus
