Schemata Workshop is a collaborative architecture practice dedicated to fostering vibrant communities for people to live, work, and play. Our work is mission driven, focusing on building community, resilience, and social equity through thoughtful design and a methodical project delivery process together with mission-aligned clients.

Schemata Workshop is hiring an Architect with approximately 12-15 years of experience with affordable and market-rate multifamily housing, community buildings, and other mixed-use projects. Experience with urban design and “infratecture” is appreciated as well. Strong interpersonal skills with clients and staff are important for success.

Required Skills + Experience

  • Autodesk Revit Expertise
  • Microsoft Office + Project
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam
  • Developing design options for client review
  • Experience with design review process
  • Experience with construction contract administration

Desirable Skills + Experience

  • Active membership in local/national professional, or community-based organization(s)
  • Rhino and/or Sketchup for design studies
  • LEED, Living Building Challenge, or Passive House accreditation

Specific Responsibilities

  • Creative design and problem solving, from big picture planning and down to the details.
  • Must be able to execute project designs completely through construction contract documents
  • Work within project budgets and schedules
  • Quality assurance of contract documents, coordination and detailing of building systems and consultants
  • Lead team interaction with public agencies, including permitting, planning, and design review process
  • Serve as a mentor to less-experienced architects and staff
  • Client care and support
