Junior Interior Designer

Internationally renowned Architecture & Interior Design firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates is seeking a well-rounded, dynamic and creative Junior Interior Designer for a full time position with 2-3 years of experience to provide support to the senior staff, project managers and partners in the execution of various types of interior design projects including hospitality and residential. You are the ideal candidate if you are self-initiative, thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously with an approachable, responsive and flexible style. Attention to detail, accuracy, precision, comprehension of colors and textures, ability to collaborate with team of architects and interior designers are a must. 

 Responsibilities

  • Provide design support for completion/execution of design concepts.
  • Contribute to the overall look and feel of project interiors with direction from senior staff.
  • Contribute to the development of space planning concepts and generate program documents.
  • Assist in selecting finishes for various projects and input data into finish schedules; furniture & floor pattern plans and diagrams as necessary.
  • Create project material finish palettes as needed. Research, source and order materials/ finishes. 
  • Source FF&E and produce specifications & purchase orders.
  • Follow and stay on schedule with assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Review pricing, materials and customization for projects
  • Maintain and manage the firm’s materials library. Meet with architectural product representatives as needed to ensure the most up-to-date materials.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

 Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ full-time experience in a design firm is a must. 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, with a rigorous design education
  • Knowledge of FF&E products, specifications, colors and materials
  • Knowledge of Construction Documents and procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding graphic presentation skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/ Vectorworks, Photoshop, Sketch-up and the Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency of Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency in Vectorworks, Spexx,  3D Studio Max is a plus.
