SMS Architects is hiring an intermediate-level Project Manager to be based in our office located in Irvine, California. You will be required to coordinate all aspects of projects and estimate the scope of work.

Job Description

Has full responsibility for managing all aspects of multiple small to mid-sized projects. Prepares strategic plans for project success. Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments. Estimate fees, determine the scope of works and prepare proposals and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned large scale workplace design and build projects
  • Perform overall quality control of work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within the scope, and within budget
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Take a lead role in clearly defining and communicating all aspects of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Monitor the compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications
  • Travel regularly to building sites, proposed locations, and client meetings

Job Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Licensure preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture from an accredited program
  • Project Management Certification a plus
  • Experience managing multiple small to large projects
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • General knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is preferred
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with the entire lifecycle of projects
