We are currently looking for a Lead Designer who can join our team and help take Studio Four Design to another level in design excellence and recognition and be a future key member of our leadership team by growing into the role of the firm’s Design Director.

 As Lead Designer you will be the day-to-day person responsible for bringing the vision of our clients to life by exceeding their expectations for service and delivery while meeting the firm’s goals for design and quality control. You’ll work alongside a talented and committed team supported by a project manager, serving as a lead designer on projects as well as teaching and mentoring younger designers on staff.   Some of the tasks you will be responsible for are:

  •  Create and develop planning and design concepts
  • Prepare and coordinate architectural drawings, renderings and other design assignments to meet project requirements
  • Apply design concepts to zoning, building codes and other regulatory requirements
  • Consult with product and material manufacturers; research materials and products for projects as required
  • Prepare and create presentation drawings and/or graphics and otherwise assist in presentations both internally and externally.
  • Mentor and train junior design staff and provide project consultation at key points in the project process
  • Assist in construction administration including responding to RFI’s, preparing sketches and supplemental instructions, visit construction sites to gather information and/or prepare punch lists.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience to include 5 years of architectural design experience
  • Submit a portfolio demonstrating the candidate’s aptitude and experience in the design of commercial buildings
  • License preferred.  If not, candidate must be eligible or in process of taking Architectural Registration Examination
  • Working knowledge of building engineering systems and the ability to successfully engage with consultants in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • On-the-job experience using Revit to produce construction documents.
  • High proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Rhino, Illustrator and InDesign.
