JOB POSTING - DESIGNER

Elysian Landscapes is currently seeking a full-time Designer, with education and experience in either Architecture or Landscape Architecture, to assist with the development of a variety of commercial and residential projects in all phases of project development.  As a design build firm, we shepherd our projects from concept design through installation, offering a complete arc of professional experience. 

SKILLS:

  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office.  Land F/X CAD a plus.
  • Strong oral, written, and graphic communication skills, with demonstrated abilities in conceptual design solutions, presentation graphics, and written project narratives.
  • Demonstrated experience with 3-D modeling and rendering.
  • Strong hand graphics skills are also highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Highly self-motivated and energetic.  Ready to pitch in on all levels.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-edit work and command a high level of accuracy. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited school is required.  1-3 years minimum of experience working on documents and drawings for construction, permit and bid.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production drawings of various project types and phases including conceptual/schematic plans, design development drawings, and construction documents with construction detailing.
  • Management of small–scale projects.
  • Assist in the management of medium to large-scale projects.
  • Project coordination and administration consisting of product research; locating and procuring various project materials such as trees, plants, site furnishings, hardscape materials, etc.; scheduling and coordinating meetings, as well as client and contractor communication.
  • Participation in project meetings, producing accurate meeting minutes.
  • Preparation of client presentations, plans, design studies, and construction documents.
  • Assisting with preparation and coordination of site inventory and analysis reports including site visits, site measurements, and base map preparation.
  • Conducting technical research as directed and required by projects.
  • Responsible for 1-2 special office projects (technology, website, file management, portfolio etc.)
  • Assisting with cost estimating, sourcing and purchasing of building materials and services from vendors and subcontractors before and during Construction.

COMPENSATION:  

Compensation shall be commensurate with experience.
