Bernheimer Architecture is a practice rooted in New York City and its surroundings, creating dignified spaces with a meaningful consideration for the pragmatics of building. BA is currently seeking a candidate for a position requiring a minimum of 8 years of experience working in New York City.


  • Design/technical leadership for the documentation of multi-family projects in and around New York City.
  • Interface with client and consulting team.
  • Coordinate design and production of all phases, from pre-design through schematic design, design development and construction documents phases.
  • Assist with bid period and construction administration services, including site visits and coordination with the owner - private and/or public agency.


  • Prior project delivery experience on multi-family buildings at scale, including construction documentation and construction administration for affordable residential and market rate projects
  • Experience in NYC with affordable housing and projects of a civic nature
  • Commitment to sustainable design
  • Commitment to inclusivity, equity, and social justice
  • An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias
  • Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution
  • Fluency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe suite.
  • Knowledge of Rhino, V-Ray, and Enscape are beneficial
  • LEED/Passive House Certification beneficial (though not required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employee sponsorship

BA currently works primarily as a hybrid office with mobile computing and cloud file servers providing flexibility for work from both home and from our office space in Downtown Brooklyn.
