The Project Accountant is a key role for maintaining a successful, and profitable office, acting as the liaison between the design teams and accounting department. Primary responsibilities include coordinating with project managers and studio directors on all facets of project finances including workplans and budgets, invoicing, contracts, and add services in our project management/accounting system.

Qualified candidates should have progressive experience in project accounting in an architecture or engineering firm and have strong capabilities navigating Deltek Vantagepoint and/or Deltek Vision.

Core Responsibilities

  • Reviews contracts for financial details to set up new projects in financial software; maintain contract and sub-consultant e-files
  • Communicates and coordinates with Project Managers and Studio Directors concerning project work-plans and financial performance, with an emphasis on highlighting and resolving issues
  • Prepares draft invoices, financial reports, and other related matters on a cyclical monthly basis
  • Finalizes and submits final invoices to clients in a timely manner
  • Reports monthly on overall project performance and profitability by studio
  • Prepares Work in Progress (WIP) reconciliation
  • Ensures the proper and timely posting of timesheets
  • Monitor Accounts Receivables to ensure timely client payments
  • Assist Accounting Manager with month-end and year-end financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliations


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance


3–5-year accounting experience in the AEC industry


Proficient with MS Office and Deltek products

Excellent communication skills
