Located on Union Square in Manhattan, AYON Studio Architecture • Preservation, P.C. (AYON Studio) provides professional services in the fields of Architecture and Historic Preservation. We are service-focused. We integrate architecture, design, engineering, historic preservation, and materials conservation in our projects to ensure a structure’s new life is even better than its previous one. We devise sustainable solutions that ensure future viability and create value. We are currently seeking a Project Architect to join the firm.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include conceiving and implementing design solutions for a variety projects. The position requires working directly with the firm's Principal and the Project Manager to prepare design solutions for various architectural projects; developing site analysis and outlining applicable zoning and code compliance requirements; preparing Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents and coordinating architectural design with all related Interior Design, Sustainability and Engineering disciplines during all project phases; assisting with filing the proposed work with regulatory agencies (LPC, DOB, SHPO, etc.); leveling bids and preparing bid comparison charts prior to construction contract award; and reviewing the Contractor's work during the construction phase. Other responsibilities include coordinating the project progress with the Project Manager and the Principal; updating office marketing material; and assisting with in-house business development tasks.

Qualifications

Experience with projects in NYC, including involvement with all project phases and submission to LPC and DOB. Adaptability to a dynamic work environment coupled with ability to multitask and work collaboratively on multiple projects phases while responding timely to deadlines. We are looking for a motivated, self-driven applicant with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop in-house solutions while focusing on clients' needs. The ideal candidate would have an architectural degree and/or a M Sc in Architecture, as well as a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of previous experience working at an architectural office. Proficiency with BIM (Revit) and computer-aided design (CAD), Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office is required. Architectural registration is ot required, but  demonstrated progress towards completion of the ARE exams is a must.
