Assistant Professor - Architecture  

Syracuse University School of Architecture — a top-ranked research institution that is committed to building a diverse, equal, and pluralistic faculty — seeks candidates for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor rank in Architectural Design starting in the 2022-2023 academic year. Teaching responsibilities include design studio, with a well-defined second field of expertise. 

Faculty responsibilities include teaching design studios, seminar or lecture course in a well-defined field of expertise, undergraduate and graduate thesis advising as well as service to the school, the university and greater community.

Successful candidates should possess professional experience in architectural design and demonstrate a potential for recognized research that may include built work, theoretical explorations, advocacy, creative work and/or scholarship in the form of publications, exhibitions, and grants. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to integrate their research interests, creative work, or professional practice into their teaching. We encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented groups, and candidates with experience teaching and working with diverse communities and students.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest which clearly states their area of teaching expertise, in addition to a statement of teaching pedagogy, research and professional goals, a curriculum vitae, a list of three references and a portfolio of creative work. Candidates with teaching experience should also submit sample syllabi and student work samples as part of their portfolio.
