Sguera Architecture Pllc (SA) is a growing small firm with offices in New York City and Huntington on Long Island. We are a design-oriented, full-service architecture and interior design firm focusing on modern high-end architecture.

This position is for the entrepreneurial architect who wants to eventually become a partner and build an amazing practice that she/he is truly an integral part of. This position offers you the opportunity to do all the above and grow tremendously each step of the way. SA can also provide flexibility with work hours and allows some remote work! 

SA is currently seeking a Intermediate Architect with design, permit filing, and construction experience for the following project types which the applicant must have proven experience in. NYC experience is a must and Long Island experience is a huge plus. 


Ground up new construction for 1-2 family townhomes (including Passive House) and Multi-family residential and small mixed-use developments with the ability to independently do zoning and building code analysis. 

Long Island:

Detached residential construction with the ability to independently complete wood frame and engineered wood design, filing, and construction document sets

We are also currently working on apartment renovations and restaurants.

Skill and Requirements:

  • Minimum 6+ years of work experience in all project phases from conceptual design through construction administration.
  • Experience with Department of Building filing sets for NYC and Long Island
  • Proven Experience in Autocad construction documentation and digital organization is a must.
  • Proven Experience in REVIT construction documentation and digital organization is a must.
  • Strong 3-d modeling ability in other software like Rhino or SketchUp is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NYC and NYS codes/regulations is a must.
  • Interior design specification and procurement experience a plus
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently with the flexibility to perform a variety of tasks required in a small company.
  • Minimum Bachelors of Architecture degree. Masters degree preferred.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to multi-task is a must.
  • A willingness to work hard and focus on details/precision is a must.
