The in-house design team is the vital connection between development, construction, management, marketing, and sales. The Design Coordinator is an integral member of the design team and shall oversee the design team, composed of either internal or external resources, consultant’s coordination, production of deliverables, work with marketing and CP Homes to develop project briefs, and assist with marketing materials such as plans, renderings and project narratives. This role must have demonstrated a strong ability to manage multiple project deadlines, with a proficiency in design review and a critique informed by aesthetic, budget, and schedule constraints. This talented individual should display the ability to work both independently in a self-directed manner and collaboratively within a project team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Needs to work with the design director and design team to generate design solutions for issues in all phases of design 
  • Communicate with the development team in order to align design schedules and project budgets
  • Lead the review and monitoring of design consultant progress to ensure the drawings and specifications are properly coordinated at deliverable milestones.
  • Track progress against project objectives by developing informative status updates to advise leadership about on-going design consultant and deliverable coordination.
  • Identify discrepancies between deliverables and evolving project objectives.
  • Assess critical issues and develop solutions balancing aesthetic, functional, schedule and budget goals.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to the design consultant team, for the translation of complex designs into clear, concise details and construction documents.
  • Coordinate and prepare project correspondence.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and Costa Palmas Home groups so that the sales objectives are achieved through design and the consultant team.
  • Visit job site and attend project meetings during construction, responding to requests for information and reviewing shop drawings / submittals when required.
  • A positive attitude with an open, creative, and collaborative approach to working.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Spanish / English speaking is a big plus
  • Practical knowledge of building materials, detailing, construction techniques and International Building Codes as applicable to both residential and hospitality projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit / BIM360 / CAD for the review and markup of drawing sets and 3D; Navisworks coordination and review beneficial.
  • Completion of five-year architectural undergraduate professional degree, architectural master’s degree, or related college degree.
  • 5 to 7 years minimum experience in an architectural design or related practice required.
  • Professional experience demonstrating authorship in design and implementation on real projects
  • Must have experience leading a design team and a consultant team
