Analyzes data and develops recommendations related to space needs and utilization for higher education clients. Develops space programs and planning concepts based on user interviews, in-field observations, and established space guidelines and standards. Develops graphics and writes reports to explain space analysis results.


  • Obtains space, room use, course schedule, and other data from higher education clients. Uses Excel and/or Access to manipulate and analyze data to understand existing space use patterns.
  • Works with others to conduct studies, research, compile data, and prepare comprehensive feasibility studies and space planning scenarios to be used for campus planning.
  • Researches and compiles data and assists in the preparation of comprehensive reports and analyses.
  • Presents space analysis findings to clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·       Advanced proficiency with Excel or Access is required.

·       Knowledge of computer programs: Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.

·       Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp a plus.

·       Experience reading and working with architectural building plans.

·       Skill in analyzing and determining space utilization and facilities inventory.

·       Skill in both verbal and written communication.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture is preferred; OR, four years of facilities space management or directly related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
