BLRB Architects has an immediate opening for a creative, collaborative, communicative, detail-oriented, and experienced project architect/job captain to join our Bend or Portland office. This position is open to architecturally trained individuals with 3+ years of experience fulfilling the project architect or job captain role on public and/or commercial projects. Our firm has secured many exciting projects and we are looking for team members to help us provide the exceptional client service, responsive designs, and excellent document sets for which we are known. We work in project teams and this position will work directly with our Senior Associate of Housing Projects and the Bend Principal and be supported by an enthusiastic and capable project team.

The person in this role will lead one of our commercial teams, with a primary focus on multi-family housing. However, opportunities to cross train and experience other project types exist. Duties include, but are not limited to, participation in the development of the project design, managing the production support for the project, consultant coordination, QA/QC on project drawing sets, code reviews, and agency coordination. BLRB has a robust professional development program including on-the-job mentoring, quarterly check-ins with the office Principal, opportunities to learn new skills, and continuing education support.

BLRB Architects is a premier architecture firm with offices in Tacoma and Spokane, Washington, as well as Portland and Bend, Oregon, endeavoring for a diverse and inclusive organization. We enjoy supporting our communities and enriching people’s lives through our design solutions, and we have great clients and fun projects that include schools, non-profits, civic buildings, mixed-use developments, and more.

Currently, this position is a mix of remote and in-office as needed/desired.  Our firm is currently working on its permanent remote/flexible work guidelines. We would like any new employee to spend some extended time in the office through various levels of training, which may include travel to other office locations as current safety guidelines allow (time and travel costs paid). If relocation is necessary, we will offer the right candidate the ability to work fully remote for two months up-front to ease the transition.
