The Project Manager is responsible for planning, interpreting, organizing, scheduling, and managing projects through all phases of development. Establishes and monitors budgets, manages project team, and prepares schedules to ensure efficient use of resources. Oversees design development, production of working drawings, and construction administration on projects. This position is responsible for maintaining client relationships and has authority to direct, control, and monitors all project activities. The Project Manager must demonstrate experience in all phases of architecture and engineering services, including a growing knowledge of project management. Because of the scale and variety of project types, it is understood that the Project Manager at times will wear multiple hats from designer to draftsman to spec writer.

The Project Manager must demonstrate professional skill, high standards, sound judgment, and professionalism. The project manager will pass knowledge to others and support a continuous learning environment. Team building and motivation are also key responsibilities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that project conforms to contractual agreement with client.
  • Effectively manages project budget to ensure profitability.
  • Effectively manages project schedule to ensure completion within allocated period of time.
  • Maintains ongoing, positive, and productive client relationships.
  • Ensures that project needs are satisfied by effectively managing project staff and resources.
  • Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors, and provides performance-enhancing feedback to team members.
  • Implements processes to reduce risks and exposure in all phases of the project.
  • Directs activities related to construction administration, including scheduling, preparation of shop drawings, field observations, report of change orders, and pay requests.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a B.S. or B.A. in architecture and eight years or more of experience in designing a variety of project sizes. An architecture license is required. The Project Manager must have client management, proposal creation, project management, and negotiation experience, in addition to leadership experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently achieving high standards and goals. Proficiency in Revit is a must as well as various MS office products such as Excel and Word. Working knowledge of Adobe products such as InDesign is also valuable. Proven experience in motivation and inspiring others is essential. Presentation skills and travel are required.
