NuVu is seeking a Design Education Fellow who is passionate about design, technology and education to join our team as an instructor at our partner school, Colegio Nueva Granada (CNG), in Bogotá, Colombia. In this role, you will join a unique, highly skilled cohort of Fellows who lead programs at NuVu’s growing network of partner schools around the world. 

Applicants must have a passion for working with young people, and a portfolio that reflects a variety of hands-on making skills, techniques, materials, and scales.

As the Design Education Fellow, you will support this vision by leading the design and implementation of studios with support and mentorship from the NuVu team in Cambridge, MA.

Once here you will:

In collaboration with CNG and the NuVu team in Cambridge MA, you will be a key resource for students and teachers in the design and execution of projects over the course of the school year. 

  • Develop and teach studios on a wide range of topics across grade levels with the support of the NuVu Team.

  • Guide and mentor students throughout the design process: brainstorming, researching, prototyping, fabricating, documenting, and presenting.

  • Collaborate with teachers to support studio-based learning in their own classes’ curriculum.

  • Interface with a diverse group of stakeholders, including the CNG team, experts from a diverse range of fields, as well as local organizations and partners.

Relevant Experience: 

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in a design or design/tech field such as architecture, computational design, or industrial design, or equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency in design, programming, electronics, and digital fabrication expertise.

  • Strong understanding of the design and making process: brainstorming, ideating, and prototyping.

  • Ability to think both conceptually and concretely about projects.

  • Teaching experience.

  • Strong writing and graphic communication abilities.
