Construction project manager top duties and qualifications 

In our firm a Project Manager, or Construction Supervisor, is responsible for monitoring the construction process for interior remodeling projects or home additions. 

Project Manager's duties include:

1- Upholding the use of quality materials and procedures

2- Adhering to budgets to complete tasks or purchase materials

3- Reviewing contracts to make sure that current practices align with the owner’s expectations. 

4- Generate change orders and negotiations on purchase orders.

5- Keeping clients and our firm updated on the progress of the project and to maintain the relationship with design team 

6- Participating on pricing new projects

7- Help designers on technical aspects of projects

8- Executing requested tasks based on office's needs

Project Manager skills and qualifications

A quality Project Manager should be capable of managing a project from start to finish and allocating resources accordingly. The right candidate should have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good client relationship 
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Solid grasp of building compliance and safety regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Budgeting
  • Decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle more than project at a time 
  • Driver’s license  
  • General architectural and design knowledge
  • knowledge of Autocad and Google sheets
  • Excellent technical and workmanship knowledge
