Position Summary

Drummond Projects seeks a Design Assistant to support its Principal specifically with scheduling, administration, construction management, client relations, and client presentation production.

The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to professionalism, organization, and communication. In addition, they will have the ability to process complex tasks and projects with minimal instruction quickly. 

This position is part-time with the potential for full-time dependent on experience. Ideal candidates must live in the DMV area. Candidates with mobile ability are preferred; however remote flexible work is optional. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Coordinate daily calendar for principal

Helping prepare for meetings

Accurately recording meeting minutes

Act as point of contact between principal and employees/clients

Create regular reports and internal documents

Suggest more efficient ways to manage the office and troubleshoot malfunctions

Provide general administrative support

Interacting with other architects and designers to exchange ideas and provide support.

Providing suitable design recommendations based on factors such as budget, the building site, with the principal’s direction

Contact/communication with vendors 

Visit project sites to support principal and designers

Assist Principal and Senior/Junior Designers with project management 

Minimum Requirements 

Bachelors or Associates degree in relevant fields (architecture, design, business etc.) 

1-3 years work experience in related fields 

Proficiency with Google Workspace, Adobe Suite, Revit, and Rhino preferred 

Excellent technical and graphic skills

Strong creative design and time management skills

Ability to focus on more than one project at once

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational skills, strategic judgment, and the ability to think quickly and creatively 

Strong verbal and written communication skills


Compensation will be determined based on related work experience and applicable skillset.
