Jensen Yorba Wall is seeking an emerging professional architect to help grow our firm into the future.  Located in Juneau, we focus on designing high-quality projects which improve communities throughout maritime Alaska, from Ketchikan to Dutch Harbor.  Our unique location allows us to work on a wide variety of institutional, commercial, and residential projects including schools, civic centers, tourist facilities, airports, hospitals, and many more.

Juneau, the capital of Alaska, is a town of about 32,000 located between the mountains and fjords of the Inside Passage.  Located in the middle of the Tongass—the world’s largest old-growth temperate rain forest—the area offers an incredible wealth of outdoor activities.  This truly unique place isn’t for everyone, but the people who love it here couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

Our firm is currently 9 people including 3 registered architects, a registered interior designer and other professional design and support staff.  We pride ourselves on providing a positive work environment, including healthy work/life balance and family-friendly policies.  Because of our small size and varied portfolio, we are looking for an individual who is excited about all aspects of architectural practice—from proposal writing, to concept design sketching, to construction documentation and administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accredited professional architecture degree
  • Willingness to live and work in Juneau, Alaska
  • Desire to work and grow in a small, close-knit architectural office
  • Strong design portfolio indicating architectural and graphic design abilities
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Computer-aided drafting experience and skills

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Registered professional architect
  • 5+ years of professional architectural experience, including construction document preparation
  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency
  • Graphic design skills with Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Rendering / architectural presentation skills with Sketch-Up, Lumion or similar programs
  • LEED accreditation

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
  • 401(k) retirement plan with Profit Sharing
  • Paid medical, dental, vision & life insurance
  • Paid holiday, annual leave, and sick days
