Menemsha is seeking, motivated individuals to join our practice who possess the core qualities of enthusiasm, strong character, high intellect and strong interpersonal skills.  We have opportunities for Senior Job Captains with 7-10 years of experience in architectural services and as-built surveys, primarily responsible for production of construction documents, quality control of drawings, as-built survey quality assurance, coordination, and management of multiple fast paced projects all over the nation with different clients.  Non-registered with 8 or more years of experience or recently licensed architect with more than 7 yrs of experience responsible for significant aspects of design projects, including production of multiple design projects and the oversight of multi-site survey and design projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Seamless integration into the design team through contribution of creative design solutions.
  • The ability to actualize conceptual ideas of the Sr Design Lead into viable design development quality plans & details.
  • Able to interact with vendors to obtain required specifications, installation & pricing information for development of details.
  • Oversight & creation of design presentation templates.
  • Preparation, Oversight & implementation of survey and design programs
  • Identification & documentation of all items within a project that requires design.
  • Oversight & creation of design trackers to manage timely completion of design items and the hours allotted/spent.
  • Responsible for identifying & implementing project specific & program requirements into design.
  • Continued follow through on all design items through the verification of vendor specifications, code compliance & constructability as the design evolves.
  • Deliver a complete design with complete details to the production team. 
  • Responsible for communication with the production team to ensure that all design elements are implemented into the design development & construction documents.
  • Manages the creation of or creates client specific drawing templates utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Manage teams of Job Captains, consultants, and surveyors to accomplish client program needs, including presentations, as built surveys, construction documents and design presentations.
  • Follow through to confirm the successful documentation/implementation of the design elements into the design development & construction documents.
  • Work in conjunction with Project Manager to meet scheduled deliverables, production of design presentation materials, construction documents and other deliverables.
  • Coordinate deliverables for multiple projects and programs.
  • Quantify Extra Work Authorizations related to original contracted scope of work.
  • Responsible for updating project and program templates & standards.
  • Responsible for creating design procedures for team to follow.
  • Assist PM in indentifying staffing needs.
  • Assist PM with project schedules.
  • Assist PM with project budgets & Billings.
  • Advanced knowledge of Building construction & Building systems. Able to develop details without direction.
  • Provide technical training as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Good technical knowledge of construction documents and building department expectations related to construction documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal Client/GC/Consultant/Agency communication skills.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of architectural practice.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, sketch up and Photoshop required.
  • Proficiency in rendering software (3d max, artlantis, V-ray, enscape) preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, a self starter and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated to meet project deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong team building building abilities.
  • Ability to mentor job captains.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture – Master’s degree a plus. Architectural license is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in Architectural Services.
  • Previous experience in tenant improvement & commercial projects preferred.
