Bernheimer Architecture is a practice rooted in New York City and its surroundings, creating dignified spaces with a meaningful consideration for the pragmatics of building. Our studio is committed to designing sustainable, equitable, and resilient architecture for all people and their communities.

BA is currently seeking a candidate for a position requiring a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in New York City.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Team member for private residential architecture and market-rate interior architecture.
  • Interface with client and consulting team.
  • Coordinate design and production of all phases, from pre-design through schematic design, design development and construction documents phases.
  • Assist with bid period and construction administration services, including site visits and coordination with the owner - private and/or public agency.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Prior project delivery experience, including construction documentation and construction administration for private residential and market rate projects
  • Commitment to sustainable design and the use of healthy materials.
  • Commitment to inclusivity, equity, and social justice
  • An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias
  • Professional architectural or interior design degree from an accredited institution
  • Fluency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe suite, famliarity with REVIT
  • Knowledge of Rhino, V-Ray, and Enscape are beneficial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employee sponsorship

BA currently works as a hybrid office. All employees receive office laptops for location flexibility, though our expectations are for a combination of work-from-home and in-office time.
