Open Workshop for Architecture [OWA] is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager to join our expanding studio located in downtown Tampa, minutes away from the Channelside and Ybor City districts. Candidates should have 5+ years of professional experience working with high-end commercial and residential projects (both single family and multi-family). As an integral part of our studio culture, candidates should enjoy working in a creative and collaborative environment with the ability to work independently as well.

The focus of this position is to develop design options with the team internally, produce high quality construction documents and manage external consultants through all phases of the design process to ensure the drawings are properly coordinated and a high-level design is executed.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for leadership and coordination with project team members and consultants from project inception through completion.

- Assist with directing and managing the project team, mentoring staff, and representing the firm to the client.

- Deliver design-sensitive projects on schedule and within budget while making authoritative decisions and recommendations for significant impacts related to the project.

- Resolve complex technical and design issues with team to produce innovative, technical and constructible solutions.

- Direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks.

- Responsible for oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and high technical quality.

- Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI’s.

- Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project.

- Participate in client presentations and/or meetings.

- Responsible for the technical planning and execution of the project documents.

Requirements:

- Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited school.

- 5-10 years of professional experience with the ability to produce high quality drawings for all design phases with thorough detailing and notation skills.

- Registered Architect and LEED AP preferred.

- Strong conceptual design skills and visualization, backed by technical knowledge of architectural principles and practices.

- Ability to detail design in collaboration with the design lead and team.

- Working knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures.

- Strong, clear communication skills.

- Ability to work in an open studio environment.

- Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

- Ability to multi-task on multiple projects.

- Strong organizational skills, able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

- Ability to take initiative in response to direction from team leadership.

- A flexible and open attitude towards different working methods.

- Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required.
