Salary: $70,000-$75,000 (negotiable, salary will be commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum 2-year commitment preferred
  • Experience working with projects with NYC and/or NYS agency owners a plus
  • Highly proficient with AutoCAD

Overview

We are looking for an Architectural Detailer / Drafter with at least 2 years of experience to prepare of construction drawings and submittals for various General Construction projects. The candidate will survey existing field conditions at job sites as needed. The position will report to the Senior Project Executive and will work closely with Project Managers as well as interact with personnel in the office and at field locations.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare existing site documentation and facilitate site surveys on a need basis
  2. Utilize AutoCAD to expertly reflect project plans and specifications into drawings for construction and fabrication
  3. Utilize AutoCAD to prepare as built drawings for final submission at project close-out
  4. Ensure final designs comply with quality standards and specifications
  5. Oversee the upkeep and organization of drawing files and templates
  6. Identify and communicate potential conflicts through drawing and detailing
  7. Corrections and updates to drawings under direction of supervisor and/or project managers
  8. Support tasks during project construction phase such as handling submittals and samples as required
  9. Research construction products and systems
  10. Prepare shop drawings for architect approval and shop fabrication

Required Experience and Competencies

  1. Must be able to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings and contract specifications
  2. Ability to work in the office 5 days per week (Monday-Friday) for 8 hour shifts
  3. Good verbal and written communication skills
  4. Familiarity with US construction methods and materials
  5. Knowledge of NYC building codes and ADA regulations
  6. Highly proficient in AutoCAD
  7. Good organizational skills, attention to detail and problem solving
  8. Team player with ability to work independently
