Architect Level I

POSITION SUMMARY

Five or more years of experience, licensed architect preferred who exercise independent judgement in evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, solves problems when encountered and receives guidance on complex projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Performs work requiring independent judgement in evaluation, selection and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Independently solves problems encountered while receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval of proposed project plans.   

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent professional degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 5 years minimum of professional experience as a designer
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English-spoken and written
  • Strong conceptual design skills
  • Ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team
  • Ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project(s)
  • Strong ability with ArchiCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, Lumion and Adobe Suite
  • Strong organizational skills, able to work under pressure, meet deadline and budget time efficiently.
  • Ability to take initiative in response to direction from managers
  • A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working
  • Experience as a designer on built and published references
  • Experience working in a leading American or international architecture office
  • Licensure and/or LEED certification are assets.
