PROJECT COORDINATOR - COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

This position requires the candidate to have specific experience in commercial construction project management.

We are currently seeking a quick learner who is a creative and detail-oriented professional that will demonstrate their initiative to learn and work on a daily basis. As Project Coordinator, you are an integral part of our operations that will provide project management and support to a team of accomplished and industry leading architects and construction developers. You’re role is essential in moving projects forward and this will be an opportunity to make a career out of while bringing unique development projects to life.

About us: We are an award winning Commercial Developer and Construction Company with approximately 1,000,000 square feet of "Creative Office" space currently under lease and are also in the process of constructing several large commercial projects in Culver City and the City of Los Angeles operating for over 35 years. Some of the Project Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains ongoing communication to understand any project changes, design issues or time/budget constraints, change orders that may impact initial assignment.
  • Keeps Development Team informed of progress; recognizes problem issues and communicates impact to team, and seeks clarity when necessary.
  • Arrange and participate in meetings and conference calls. Prepare meeting materials, records notes as necessary.
  • Participate in obtaining proposals from consultants and vendors, as needed.
  • Follow and track all items needed to complete contracts with vendors.
  • Serve as point of contact and distribute information to the appropriate parties.
  • Able to work overtime, as necessary, in order to maintain project schedule.
  • Assist Project Manager with day to day operations from development through construction close-out.
  • Assist Project Manager with preparation of Sub-Contracts.
  • Assist Project Manager with administrative duties such as tracking schedule, bidding, and budget tracking.
  • Assist Project Manager with preparation/execution/tracking of Change Orders.
  • Ability to prepare and distribute project progress reports and project meeting agendas/minutes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required or preferred qualifications:

  • Construction background preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years experience preferred.
  • Must have good working computer skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Project and Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Experienced in processing RFI’s and maintaining a RFI log.
  • Experienced in processing Submittal Packages.
  • Familiar with OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to read construction plans and documents as well as general construction terminology.
  • Experience with projects of 10,000 square feet of space or more and experience with contractors and vendors.
  • Willing to train but must be able to follow directions but also take initiative independent of typical duties.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and principles.
  • Possess a strong desire to work in a commercial development and construction environment.

This is a full time position available immediately to the right candidate. Salary negotiable depending on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
