Position Responsibilities

  •  Contributes to the development of distinct portions of a Project(s) with periodic supervision by Project Leadership and Computational Design Leadership. Exhibits initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a task specific level.

  • Provides computational design expertise and support for projects during all phases, including geometric modeling, documentation, visualization, and various types of analysis. This includes developing strategies for these tasks, and implementing them.

  • Work closely with design teams to explore geometry strategies (simple and complex), typically collaboratively with architects and structural engineers.

  • Develop strategies to generate systems-based models using (and developing) parametric scripts. Various types of analysis are embedded in the design process.

  • Assist teams in interoperability workflows.

  • Effectively communicates internally through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means. 

  • Creates and innovates with a strong conceptual design ability and integrates interdisciplinary criteria to effectively move forward the design of a portion of a project.

  • Actively collaborates at a project team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. 

  • Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details and construction techniques. Is able to enrich design concepts through technical strategies and effectively uses appropriate tools to design and document at all project phases.

  • Manages time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with periodic interaction and direction from project leaders while sharing knowledge with less experienced staff. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience; professional licensure process is in progress.

  • Completion of a professional degree in Architecture or a related field. 

  • LEED accreditation preferred.

  • Highly proficient in Rhino and Grasshopper.

  • Experience in coding (e.g. Python, C#, JavaScript) is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Revit and Dynamo.

  • Good understanding of architectural geometry.

  • Experience and interest in developing parametric models for the creation, iteration, rationalization, and documentation of complex building system geometry.

  • Interest in cutting edge design technology and its application to design process.
