L Design Studio, a highly regarded lighting design firm in the NYC design community, is seeking a passionate individual to join our highly collaborative studio. An ideal candidate is self-motivated and excited by the power of lighting design, not only to celebrate and reveal architecture while unifying spaces, but also to support the lives and activities of the people using those spaces.  The candidate should display initiative to learn in a field in which they may or may not have practiced; previous experience in the lighting design industry is an asset but not required.

The studio uses it's understanding of natural and artificial lighting to create designs that inform the perception of the built environment. Our practice creates singular spaces, where the lighting enhances both the space and the experience of the occupants. We provide lighting solutions for project types including residential, hospitality, retail, corporate, and healthcare. Our diverse portfolio is developed with a varied client base that includes architects, designers, developers, and private individuals.

Normal office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. However, we are currently, and for the foreseeable future, using a hybrid schedule for in-office vs remote work.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Revit. Candidate must have experience using software on projects and/or in a professional office setting. They should understand not only how to model and navigate the software, but also be able to troubleshoot.
  • Full proficiency in the Adobe Suite, Autodesk CAD, and MS Office.
  • Savvy with developing presentation packages.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be committed to assigned projects for both quality of work-products and schedules, as well as be good at multi-tasking for diverse work on a variety of projects.
