Small office with broad range of experience and project type. Projects range from high end residential to moderate-budget renovations of historical suburban homes to restaurants and small commercial spaces. Candidate will work directly under principal/founder and will find ample opportunity to develop professional skills while being exposed to all aspects of running an architectural firm.

The ideal candidate has minimum of 4-6+ years of post-graduate experience in architectural design and construction document production. Drive to engage with refinement of the firm’s mission and growth and engage in business development is expected. You will be expected to communicate with clients and consultants and must have strong social skills.

Work is currently remote only, with potential physical office to be established in the New York City area the near future. Remote geographic location open to consideration for the right candidate – strong preference given NYC-based candidates and those based in Eastern Standard Time Zone. Remote candidates will be expected to visit office location and job sites periodically.

Required and/or preferred skills and interests

  • B. Arch or M. Arch degree from an accredited NAAB university
  • ArchiCAD (Familiarity with BIM principals required, training available for motivated candidate without specific ArchiCAD experience)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Experience w/ Construction Documents, Construction Administration, renderings and hand drawing required
  • Attention to detail required
  • Strong sense of design and detailing
  • Drive for engagement in all aspects of architectural practice from design to drawing production to business development

Business development responsibilities

  • Proposing project and client development opportunities
  • Management of firm Instagram account
  • Maintenance of firm website

Production responsibilities

  • Measurement and as-built drawings
  • Construction Documents
  • Construction Administration
  • Design concept development and refinement
  • Coordination with consultants
  • Rendering and drawing of project concepts
  • Architectural material research
