Job Summary:

This position is for Technical Field Representative for the construction of a new 75,000 s.f. school in New York City. Duties will be full time during the period of construction and largely performed on the construction site. The Tech Rep will work closely with the project manager, project architect and support team.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with a degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in on-site Construction Administration with new construction
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Effective, non-confrontational demeanor in job meetings
  • Prior experience on projects for the New York City School Construction Authority is highly desirable for this role.
  • Proficiency with hand sketching, Revit, ACAD and CM13

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Technical Field Representative will assist in ensuring that the Work conforms to the Contract Documents and that the quality of the Work meets acceptable standards.
  • The Technical Field Representative services shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    • Perform on-Site observations of the progress and quality of work and observe tests required by the Contract Documents to determine if the work is being performed in a manner so that when completed it will be in conformance with the Contract Documents.
    • Respond to various Requests for Information from the Contractor and provide interpretations of Contract Documents
    • Review requests for Change Orders by the Contractor
    • Attend meetings and report to the on the proceedings
    • Attend and participate in site meetings and prepare meeting minutes
    • Maintain records at the construction site
    • Maintain a logbook of activities at the site
