J.L. Ramirez Interiors is a boutique interior design firm providing services for clients in New York, New Jersey, and across the country. The firm specializes in high-end residential design, closely partnering with our in-house architecture firm, J.L. Ramirez Architect. As a collaborative team of designers, we can efficiently oversee all phases of design from initial concept, through construction drawings, and project installation.


The applicant will be responsible for overseeing design and project management. This position requires attention to detail, organization, and follow through. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, is able to take direction, and manage multiple projects at once. Candidate should be comfortable with all phases of a project from schematic design to construction administration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Overseeing all phases of multiple design projects from design development, through construction management 
  • Produce schematic drawings using AutoCAD – familiarity with interior construction drawing and details is a plus 
  • Coordinating & attending client meetings 
  • Managing client communication & relationships 
  • Preparing client presentations & proposals 
  • Processing and tracking custom furniture orders • Coordinate with architects, contractors & subcontractors 
  • Produce and review custom millwork and furniture drawings 
  • Researching & sourcing items such as furniture, fabrics, accessories, finishes, lighting, plumbing, hardware etc.


  • Degree in Interior Design 
  • 6-8 years previous interior design experience, including management. Preferred concentration in high-end residential 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop • Proficiency of Microsoft Office 
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills 
  • Knowledge and understanding of custom furniture design is a plus 
  • Knowledge of luxury furnishing and finishes
