We are looking for a resourceful, and motivated Business Development Manager to join our creative team!

Design Draw Build Inc, is a growing Architect Led Design Build firm based in Oakland. We believe that as designers+builders we have a significant role to play in bringing forth a more desirable world. We believe that integral knowledge is produced by experiencing the building process.

Ideal candidates will be prepared to undertake aspects of financial management, including, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of effective internal control policies and procedures. Business Development Manager responsibilities will include regular contract management and support of the bookkeeper. 

Human Resources is a part of the Business Department. HR duties may be assigned to this role depending on the experience of the candidates.

  • General accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Maintenance and Presentation of the Company Budget
  • Integrate Project Budgeting into the larger Company Budget
  • Collaboration with the Architecture Team and Assist other business staff with Construction Estimator/Construction Project Manager to understand and manage the project costs.
  • Support monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over Financial Transactions and Financial Reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • File proper documentation with our CPA when needed.
  • Provide proper data to our Insurance Brokers + Insurance Auditors when applicable.
  • Work with the Owner and Operations manager on clear strategies.


  • 3+ years of overall business and finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with HR management and employment issues
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Some Quickbooks experience preferred
  • Interest in the the Architecture and Construction Industry
  • Experience with Procore is a preferred or other construction management software
