Job Overview

In this role, you act as an Architectural Project Manager and Project Architect. You engage with and manage third-party architects for multiple projects while acting as the Project Architect on select other jobs. Here are the roles you’ll play:

The Liaison

  • Assist the Investments team by developing and managing project scopes and schedule of deliverables
  • Oversee project timelines and ensure projects stays on track
  • Work with construction representatives to manage the project schedule and information exchange with consultants
  • Coordinate design intent with the Interior Design team to provide a complete narrative to third parties
  • Establish a balanced workload between project management of third-party architects and project architects
  • Act as a conduit between the Investments, Construction, Design teams, and all third-party consultants while coordinating documents and information flow
  • Provide the Construction team with all information needed to apply for building permits and assists with RFI correspondence with consultants

The Jack of All Trades

  • Create conceptual designs for all acquired communities
  • Prepare preliminary design and possible alternatives for client review
  • Exercise creative judgment and design application skills in developing design and space planning studies, including sketches, renderings, and graphics
  • Verify budget and designs appropriately to both hard and soft costs, including specific breakdowns (i.e. landscape, hardscape, pool, etc.)
  • Initiate requests for renovation structural review depending on project scope
  • Research, evaluate, and engage third-party architects, engineers, and other AEC consultants
  • Send out requests for project proposals
  • Review and approves invoice for third-party consultants
  • Obtain signoffs on any modifications after project start
  • Participate in site visits, permitting, review boards, and kickoff meetings

Building Blocks of Success

  • Stellar 5+ years of experience in multifamily, residential design, or commercial design
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture, design, or related field; architectural licensure is required for new development and preferred for renovations
  • Architectural stamp required
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to self-check and correct work
  • Capability to take initiative and work without excessive supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, plan workloads efficiently, and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative and professional work ethic
  • Fluent in Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software is a plus
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
