Black Gold Engineering, a division of Chandi Group USA, is seeking qualified Project Architect candidates to join our fast-paced team.

Chandi Group USA is an emerging commercial developer headquartered in the Coachella Valley (greater Palm Springs area).  The company has completed multiple ground-up retail businesses, small shopping centers and also hotel projects.  Future development opportunities include mixed-use retail / multi-family projects, hospitality, and other commercial developments. 

We are looking to fill multiple architectural positions.  Candidates should possess the following skills/experience:

  • Skilled in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.  Good knowledge of SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion preferred, plus basic proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). 
  • Required experience working with construction documents/strong understanding of construction practices, interior and exterior detailing, and working productively with a team and/or individually. 
  • Ability to manage project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
  • Experience with ground-up commercial retail, hospitality and mutli-family projects.
  • The ability to quickly and efficiently create presentation level renderings is highly desired. 
  • Experience in processing submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI’s
  • Be able to multi-task, establish priorities and communicate clearly, and work independently.
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, be resourceful, and able to work under deadlines.
  • Possess the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff, and delegate work assignments.
  • LEED Certified preferred, but not required.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed California architect with 3+ years of professional and design related experience in all technical phases of architecture, to include experience putting together Construction Documents and processing documents with the building/planning department.
  • Knowledgeable of CA building codes and standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Candidates should possess permanent US residency or US citizenship, or demonstrate that they are on the path to permanent US residency or US citizenship.  (Note: We may provide sponsorship for international applicants if the applicant is already in the US).
