Assistant Director, Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM)

Yale University seeks an energetic arts professional to join the Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM) in the role of  Assistant Director.  Reporting to the Director of CCAM, the Assistant Director will manage a variety of projects to support the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals of CCAM. They will assume primary responsibility for CCAM's communication and media strategy, as well as direct the planning, production, and implementation of all aspects of CCAM programs and events, while fostering an inclusive and respectful working environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage the logistical function of all CCAM programs and events including directing the pre-production, installation, and de-installation for all exhibitions, performances, and special projects. Monitor best practices for safety while ensuring that CCAM is in compliance with all University polices.
  • Drive awareness and interest in the program through outreach and engagement by developing and implementing strategies for marketing outreach. Initiate, solicit, and cultivate community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program.
  • Initiate, design, and manage the compilation of print and online program communications, identifying outreach potential, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program.
  • In collaboration with the Director, identify and evaluate potential future funding sources and recommend structural or programmatic adjustments based on expert knowledge of CCAM’s mission, goals, and objectives. Contribute to the research, writing, and submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content and budgetary sections of grant applications.
  • Manage measurement of grant and programmatic success by developing and implementing custom reports on the metrics to identify, track, and report on data to support the initiatives of the program.
  • As assigned, represent the Director on committees and at meetings and assume responsibility for functions in the Director’s absence, including public functions and meeting with potential collaborators and donors.
  • Develop and manage the administrative infrastructure of the program, including information systems, facilities, equipment maintenance, and space needs. Manage student and professional CCAM staff TBD.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four years of experience in a related field

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree and record of experience in business operations or management role with specialization in an interdisciplinary, or arts/ technology related field strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities requirements:

  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic, complex organizational environment. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience effectively communicating at all levels, with a proven track record in project and team management.
  • Experience working with presentation and design software including the google suite, Microsoft suite, adobe photoshop, illustrator, in-design. Experience editing websites preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to keep projects and staff on track, with the ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic nights and weekends.
