The Zaga Design Team is growing!

We are a small, collaborative architecture firm seeking to add an experienced Architectural Associate to join our team. The qualified candidate will help with all phases of production, including schematic design, 3D rendering, construction documents, red lines, city permit submissions,, bidding and value engineering and construction administration. Responsibilities will include:

  • Independently prepare architectural plans and renderings

  • Develop design and technical design solutions for specific areas of projects and ensure design integrity through the Design Development

  • Responsible for preparing presentation materials such as conceptual drawings, 3D renderings and visualizations, and digital 3D and physical models

  • Construction Documents

  • Generate revisions and corrections from outline mock-ups, redlined drawings and project document sets

  • Construction Phases

  • Present solutions in-house and coordinate design intent and documentation with consultants

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the appropriate use of building systems, materials, and technologies, and research alternative systems and materials

  • Consult with manufacturers, and evaluate and select materials

  • Develop project specifications

  • Prepare and review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations

  • Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of building, planning, and zoning codes as they relate to the project and its design

  • Integrate building performance goals into design solutions and document performance metrics

  • Attend client meetings to observe the overall process and develop presentation skills

  • Attend site visits and construction walk-throughs

  • Recognize and document conflicts that arise during construction and development, and offer alternatives to resolve issues

Required years of professional experience:

Master or Bachelor of Science in Architecture, 3 - 5 years relevant work experience required. Actively pursuing licensure in the State of Colorado. Sustainability Accreditation preferred.

Software Fluency Requirements:

AutoCad, Revit, AdobeSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign

Other Software Preferences:

Lumion and Rhino a plus.
