We are looking for a Job Captain with great energy, self-motivated, an aptitude for learning new skills, and a positive mindset - while also bringing in their unique design talents and technical expertise.  Excellent communication skills are required as we talk out loud sharing project progress, tips, ideas and what’s on our minds in our very collaborative office environment. This is a full-time, salaried position.

Job Captain Responsibilities:

  • Production and accuracy of Construction Documents and Details using Revit, including understanding of building codes, project requirements, and permits
  • Participate in all phases of architectural practice
  • Assist with construction administration, including answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, and solving construction-related issues in the office and in the field, and provide appropriate direction to GCs/Subs
  • Responsible to fully research and coordinate, document and submit, all plan check corrections with applicable city agencies and engineers
  • Commitment to completing tasks AND be able to communicate to team out loud to resolve dilemmas
  • Occasional on-site client visits, meetings, observations, field verification and documentation
  • Support in-house team
  • Clearly communicate effectively with clients and sub-contractors

Job Captain Required Skills:

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • At least 2 years of current Job Captain experience in corporate office interiors and commercial projects
  • Required technical skills: Revit (mandatory), Photoshop, Excel
  • Real-time imaging experience with Twinmotion/Unreal Engine (a plus)
  • Must know egress and ADA codes, California Building Codes, Title 24 requirements and implications
  • Proficient in Architectural and Interior Design Standards
  • Construction Administration experience
  • Ability to read plans, elevations and sections and draft from hand sketches and/or redlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong English fluency in verbal, written and visual communication skills with all levels of employees, clients, reps, sub-contractors, local agencies
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. permanently without need for employee sponsorship
  • Must have reliable car and current valid CA (or other state) driver’s license to drive to project sites

The positions will currently require as-needed visits to the studio office including remote work, while gradually increasing in-person office work hours to full-time, in alignment with Santa Clara County reopening tiers.
