The School of Art, Design and Art History at James Madison University invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate/Professor of Architectural Design. We seek candidates from underrepresented groups who wish to participate in a collaborative community that fosters independent thought and creativity, embraces the diversity of cultural expression, and cultivates excellence in the making and understanding of architectural design. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will teach architectural design studios plus courses in history, theory, practice, representation, visualization and/or materials and methods of contemporary architectural design. These courses utilize skills ranging from research, hand-drawing, software proficiency, as well as digital and analog fabrication with a concentration on hybrid techniques. Dexterity with and knowledge of contemporary global issues/practices in design communication is essential.
