Landscape Designer Position

Miranda Brooks Landscape Design is a New York-based international landscape design firm specializing in the design of high-end residential gardens as well as private hotels.  The founder and principal, Miranda Brooks has been designing gardens throughout the world for the past 25 years with a focus on helping the landscape reveal its full potential and creating a balance between home and garden. Miranda Brooks Landscape Design is a small, collaborative office of very passionate individuals that thrive to create beautifully detailed and lasting landscapes for their clients.

The role of Landscape Designer is that of support to the firms Senior Staff Designers. The main responsibility is to assist the design development, detailing and project management of a variety of small to large projects, local and abroad.


- Bachelor or Master Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture.

- 2-4 years of work experience as a landscape designer or architect.

- Computer Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp or other 3D software.

- Ability to work at least 4 days per/week, full-time preferred

- Ability to work remotely if desired

- Experience with all aspects of Design Services from Schematic Design through Construction Administration

- Knowledge of preparing RFPs, Budgets and Bidding Forms

- Familiarity and understanding of Construction Practices, Building Methods, Sequences, and Codes.

- Experience preparing detailed drawings and specifications.

- Responsible, hard-working, self-motivated, and detail oriented

- Professional friendly demeanor, as well as excellent verbal and written skills

- Shared design aesthetic with strong graphic skills

- Project support on all phases of project development with a focus on design development and project detailing

- Strong time management, critical thinking and organizational skills

- Able to work with senior designers in a collaborative studio environment

- Ability to take direction

- Horticultural knowledge

- Desire to make site visits to document existing site conditions and track construction progress.

- Assist Project Managers in the adherence to project schedule and workflow as well as the review of submittals and shop drawings

- Research and specify materials for construction

- Support Senior Staff in the production of design documents and project drawing sets

- Pick up and manage redlines provided by the Project Manager and Principal Designer

- Work with the project team to meet deadlines and deliverables

- Source Materials & Samples

- Manage Project Documents
