Residential Architect

Edward M. Stevens Architects, LLC, an award winning, small residential architectural firm located in Maryland Heights, Missouri (Westport Plaza) is seeking a talented Project Architect with a passion for excellence.  This Residential Project Architect must work from our office and have experience in additions, renovations, subdivision / builder homes, high-end custom homes, and multi family projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in residential construction and remodeling
  • Must have 2015 IRC knowledge and prior experience preparing residential construction drawings for St. Louis County’s plan review with minimal comments
  • Licensed Missouri Architect is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field preferred
  • Experience in all phases of the design process from project planning and concepts through construction drawings with strong technical knowledge and detailing skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD is a must!  Please do not apply otherwise. REVIT is a plus
  • Positive attitude with proven proficiency working collaboratively within a team setting in a fast paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, someone who takes responsibility for their own work, and who can work efficiently and with accuracy with minimal supervision is a must.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of assuming increasing responsibility for both current and future projects and who, in particular, is interested in long term employment and growing with the firm
  • This is a full time position, local candidates only need to apply.  Part time positions will also be considered for contract work.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings with clients, consultants, contractors and vendors as required
  • Capable of coordinating with the structural engineer’s drawings
  • Participate in the design phase development
  • Organize and prepare design and construction drawings
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the CAD libraries, standards, and procedures
  • Field measure and draw existing conditions for renovation and addition
